Electronic Digital Portable Luggage Hanging Scale

It's so simple to use I just had to test it for accuracy. I have several sets of dumbbells laying around in my office, so I weighed them all. Every one weighed within the .2 lbs of its labeled weight. I believe that is also within the parameters of the dumbbell manufacture. So I weighed them all a few times to see if the scale varied within that .2 lb area. Interestingly enough it weighed each dumbbell exactly the same every time. Pretty cool. I recommend.

This is a very sturdy and well-made little scale and seems to be very accurate. It's nice that you have a choice of measures (kg, lb, etc) and the only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is that it defaults to kg instead of lbs and so far I haven't discovered a way to reset the default, so every time I turn it on, I have to remember to do a couple of clicks at the appropriate time in order to switch it to lbs. Other than that minor annoyance, great device!

I bought this travel scale because we took a recent cruise and had to fly to the departure port. When we got back to the hotel after the cruise we had no idea if our luggage would be over weight at the airport the next day (which could cost us $50 to $75 extra fee). The hotel found us a bath room scale to try and weigh our bags, then we decide to compare it to the scale in the exercise room. There was about a 4LB difference, but which one was right? We re-weighted several times with each scale and we went with 2 LB under the highest reading, just to be safe. Got home and started searching for a portable travel scale right away, the 1st week back. After reading the reviews decided to spend a little more and get one that so many people said they were happy with, The Jetsetter by Tarriss. I tried to test it several times and it seams accurate and it is much easy to pickup with the handle than I thought it would be. The unit is light weight and stores in a small space for easy packing. I'm very happy with the unit and it will be so nice not to be worried about the weight of our luggage for the return trip. I would highly recommend the unit. Fits good in your hand and long enough for me to use two extra fingers from a second hand to pickup a heavy bag ( which can help). I'm so glad I trusted the reviewers. They were so right. Great product. Yes I would buy it all over again after trying it out.

I HAVE TO GIVE TARRISS' CUSTOMER SERVICE AN A+. I emailed them that I was having problems locking up the reading. They quickly emailed back to give me instructions on how to weigh luggages. Here's their advice: "I noticed when weighing something, there can be no movement, sway or fluctuation for the weight to lock in. Once the weight is steady, it took a few seconds holding in that position to lock in, and then I could put the weight down... The best way I can describe me having success, is picking up the weight, making sure it’s still, then I count "1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi", then as I lower the weight, the reading is there!" Since I was having problems with the item, they immediately sent me a replacement. What I found is that from the time the luggage is off the floor, count 1 Mississippi up to 5 Mississippi. There is no sound or beep like other scales when they lock in the reading but the reading nevertheless locks in. And the reading is the same as my friend's Ballanza luggage scale which was more expensive, heavier, costs more, and is currently not available.

Other reviews mention a potential battery issue. I like the idea to not relying upon the auto shut off feature by manually turning it off, or going a step further by carrying a small phillips screwdriver in order to insulate the photo battery (CR 3022) contact points with a skinny piece of paper.
