I am retired cook and I like this one with 24 spikes because it works great it is simple and easy to clean.
Mom likes it. Now she makes roasted pork often
This little guy is great. I've used it twice so far on some skirt steak and a chicken breast. Naturally the steak was a little tougher to poke it through and tenderize but the difference was wonderful. It went through the chicken easily. Although it does pierce the meat if youre looking to flatten out any piece of meat for say schnitzel or the like you still will need some sort of meat mallet.
This one works just as well as my more expensive one and better. Easy to use and just rinse off in the sink when finished. Best used on steaks especially if marinating. Does a great job .
I got this for grilling chicken wings and it was a great decision. This device easily pierces the skin of the chicken wings during prep, allowing for a nice crisp wing after cooking. A normal tenderizer to pound the winds would not do the same. This actually pierces the skin.
This baby is wicked. Tried it on some partially frozen chicken, don't get your fingers in the way. Puncture the meat like it was soft butter. I saw the crazy Russian on YouTube try a number of tenderizers, this one worked the best.
I've used this on chicken, steak, and pork. While covering less surface-area than my bladed tenderizer it so much easier to use. No over-penetration, which requires prying the meat away. I reserve the bladed device for much thicker (11/2+) cuts of meat.
This has worked out great for every meat we’ve used it on. Beef, pork, chicken, turkey. It’s really upped our culinary game in the kitchen. I highly recommend this product to anyone that likes a useful kitchen gadget
I usually read reviews, and have learned how important they are, so almost didn't buy this one. Well, I love it!!!!!! I don't put it in the dishwasher, but I have no problem in washing it at all, and can't understand what these people are talking about the bacteria getting "Inside". The "nails" (they are about that size) are imbedded in the plastic handle, and they are stainless steel... can't understand how they can rust or harbor bacteria. The size of the nails surprised me. My previous tenderizer had thin, blade type piercers. I like these because they do flatten the meat, and I found I can really flatten a boneless chicken breast and a boneless loin pork chop to the point where I can roll them. That can be a negative when I want a "thick" steak, but I guess I just will save the "thick steak" times for when I have meat that doesn't need tenderizing or flavoring. I am truly happy with this tenderizer.
My mom had a pampered chef one growing up, it’s still primo but I bought this with low expectations and I was wrong! It’s easy to use and clean, I put it upright in the dishwasher and take it out immediately after the cycle ends and I’ve had no trapped water or rust. I’ve used it dozens of times and it’s still like new. Can’t beat the price or quality! It’s been a breeze for every use on every type of meat.
Bought it for poking holes through pork belly skin. You can use a fork but will take much longer. Very easy to use and lightweight. If you like crispy pork, buy this.
Had one for many years happy they still make these
AT FIRST I WASN'T GO ORDER AFTER READING SOME OF THE REVIEWS BUT I TOOK A CHANCE I USE THIS FOR MY CATERING NEEDS & ITS WORKS PERFECTLY FINE TO ME & IT TENDER THE PERFECTLY WITHOUT OVER DOING IT
Used it to prick the skin of pork belly. Worked great - many tiny skin pricks produced very crispy skin after air frying.
I love this handy little tool. Mine isn't white, it's black but that's just fine. Works like a charm and my steaks are tender and tastier than before. Who would have thought this would also improve the taste as well as texture? I would definitely buy another. Worth the price and the wait. I read the reviews so I wash mine by hand and shake out as much of the moisture as possible before I hang it on my kitchen gadget hook.
Excellent purchase! This was a replacement for one I had that worn out. That one was probably 10 - 15 years old. This is the exact same model. It is the best tenderizer around in my opinion.
I used this to make some pork chops and they are really useful. I have another one that is like a hammer based, but it doesn't really work quite as efficient as this one. This one gets the job done in less than 1 minute per pork chop. I really loved that it doesn't make as strong as a pounding noise compared to the hammer one, and it gets the meat nicely done!
Excellent Meat Tenderizer, any kind of meat....good looking, easy to handle, clean and storage...looks that will last, good price, what else to like?
Had one for use and finally had to get a new one.. some food gets stuck easy but if you wince immediately it’s great! Fits in hand perfectly, not bulky or awkward to handle!! Works great on any meat!
Very handy little item. It sure beats pounding meat with a mallet. I don't have any problem with cleaning it, so far. I just soak it in a pan of soapy water and rinse. Works very well on chicken and steaks. Great if you have a little arthritis in your wrist, as it doesn't take a lot of pressure to use.
Easy to clean and poke mucho holes in skin. Did the job and will be using it for other tenderizing meats. Buy with confidence.
Bought this for our RV. Doesn't take up alot of space and it works great.
We use this for tenderizing pork rind to make Chinese crispy pork belly and it works great! The tips are very sharp and it tenderizes very well. The pork skin came out perfectly crispy!
this one replaced the one i had for eight years. the old one finally cracked after the husband put it in the dishwasher. these will last a long time as long as you rinse it in hot water and let it dry after each use. i never had a problem with it rusting either. i have had the new one for a few months and it seems to be the same quality as my old one was. we use ours so much it sits in my kitchen window sill next to the dish soap.
I am retired, still have (most) of my original teeth, but some of them won't be around much longer, so I really enjoy my steaks, but they are a little tough without using this tenderizer. This is a very sturdy meat tenderizer and really easy to use and to clean. I have another, larger, professional model ---- but this one gives it a run for its money, especially for smaller tenderizing jobs.
