Great lightweight packable backpack! I wanted this for a small daypack that could easily be stowed away when not in use. When it arrived I loved how small it was all packed up. I unfolded it and became a little worried that it wasn't big enough for my needs, but I packed what I needed into it and it was perfect. I packed a small 10.5 inch laptop in a padded carrier, a rain jacket, a small umbrella I put in one of the mesh pockets, and a 28oz water bottle in the other mesh pocket. The material is quite durable, and I have been using this bag multiple times a week since I got it. It is a little see through, and very thin with no padding or structure to it. But I didn't need that. I would suggest using a padded case for a laptop or anything else fragile. The straps are not padded, although they feel like they are, they are a mesh material and very comfortable. I really like the color, it's just like the picture (dark grey).
I’m gearing up for a 3 week trip to Europe and wanted something compact that I can toss into my 40L backpack. The 4 Monster was perfect. At first I was very skeptical as the photos and product descriptions appeared to show a very thin bag which had material that looked flimsy. Boy was I wrong. I was initially drawn to the size of this bag so I ordered a in black. It arrived and was so small that it fit in the palm of your hand. Once unpacked I noticed it had two side mesh pockets for water bottles and all seams were taped and the material was of quality. Very impressed. Since my trip wasn’t for a couple of weeks so I wanted test out the true capacity and strength. I stuffed (2) full sized 5x8 fleece blankets inside of the main compartment along with (2) full size water bottles and it held them all with room to spare and no issues. I am 6’-2, 235 and wear a 48 jacket and the bag fit perfectly over my shoulders just as a traditional one would and didn’t look short. I am extremely impressed and can’t wait to use it.
Tested this pack since day 1. Wadded it up, put it in my pocket, unfolded it and carried multiple items for my lunch. Zippers work great, ran it through the rain and just recently the snow. Stitching is very good. I am 6'4" 240lbs and it fits me without any issues. Weighed out 20lbs in water and food, back and forth, from work to home. This is the third one I purchased, the others did not have any features. This has great form, function and price. I will purchase more, one for the truck and car. I am ex-military and have learned the hard way, when you need to stuff gear and roll out, better have the ability to do so or you leave it behind. Perfect back up bag for most anything. A++
I got the smaller one. I would say it's more for a child size, but I went with it anyways. I ended up using it on small hikes to hold a sweater, water, phone and keys. This did not fill it up at all. I was surprised there was still more room! Nothing ever got wet when it drizzled out. It wasn't uncomfortable to carry around. I would recommend not putting too much weight in it as to not weigh it down since it is light weight. Maybe the larger one would be more difficult if you can fit more in it, it would weigh it down (just a thought). I love how it folds into a bag so I keep it in my glove box for whenever I need it. Very handy to have.
I was skeptical of the durability of this, but it holds up just fine as long as you keep it mind what it is constructed of. Dont go putting 30lbs in it, but it works great placed in my hunting pack for a final approach bag with kill kit, binos, lightweight hoody and a few other things. It compresses back to the tiny palm-size just as shown every time. I like this.
After a trip to London, I can say my concerns about zipper quality were unfounded. The zipper worked well and is strong. The pack was good for bringing clothing layers for our early fall trip. A downside was that the main opening is kind of small for getting larger items in and out. That said, the inside holds large items such as bulky sweaters and fall jackets well and easily. Added bonus was the very deep outside pocket. No pickpocket would be getting something out of there without being noticed. It was nice to be able to stuff the bag back into the tiny storage bag and into my handbag when we were wearing the jackets. Will be traveling and got this for storing clothing layers I need to take on and off in fall's weather. Mornings and evenings are quite cool, but days can be warm or even hot. Opened up, there is quite a bit of room in the comfortably designed bag. This does, indeed, pack back down into that tiny bag. I had much better luck getting this back into the bag by folding it rather than rolling. It's not super easy, but only took about a minute to stuff back in.
Nice size bag for daily use it is lightweight and holds what I need with extra room. I used it for Universal Studios and extra 3 day of travel and was nicer than dragging a purse around and held my money, cosmetics, comb, unbrella, medicine with enough space to put my smaller jacket in but it was rainy and colder so wore the jacket and put gift in the back. Did not weight much at all and easy to just stay on one shoulder to grab and go. This was the 16 I am thinking of getting the 24 for longer day trips . I did use it in the rain but never got drenched more of a sprinkle and in and out from under the umbrella and no issues leaking. I would recommend .
Used this as a daypack / personal item (airline item) for a 2 week trip to Thailand. 2 pockets helped with a bit of organization. It went through a copy heavy use days including a speedboat snorkeling trip, and a 5km hiking trip. It's easy to re-pack, and packs down very small for storage.
Great deal for this little pack! Took it on a trip to Europe and it held up really well! Both the front pocket and main compartment stored a lot more than I anticipated. At its maximum capacity I managed to fit a microfiber towel, book, journal, med kit, water bottle, and puffy down sweater inside the main compartment while also having the front pocket filled with smaller accessories. I even wore this pack on multiple occasions with very heavy rain (to the point where my rain boots had puddles of water), and I was shocked to find out that very, very little water made its way into the pack. This is not to say that it is completely waterproof, but it sure is close. Also, the straps are pretty comfortable.
I needed a light day bag to take with me on a 3 week vacation to the Philippines. This bag fit my needs and I am impressed with its quality and durability! The pictures tell no tales when it comes to capacity! The main compartment fits a Gallon Jug plus about 4-5 soda cans. The front smaller pocket holds 2 cans of soda, and the two side pickets fit 2 water bottles. Considering everything that it holds, the backpack collapses into its attached storage bag which is about the size of a soda can! If you need some thing compact and light for travel or daily use, I highly recommend this backpack!
I almost didn't buy this for a 2 week international trip, and would have really regretted it if I hadn't! I thought my purse would be enough for most days, and it was- but anytime you're out for the day and want to carry sunscreen, bug spray (which in SE Asia is absolutely essential), snacks, a water bottle, a jacket, and/or a small towel, this little pack was able to fit all of it, PLUS my (small) purse so I didn't have to carry both. The second day we were adventuring, the rain dumped on us suddenly, and this thing is indeed wonderfully waterproof. Space was tight in my bag- we squeezed everything needed for 2 weeks into 1 carry on backpack- but I would say this thing was very compact and very essential. I will be bringing it on any future overseas trips, and most likely on any day hikes I take near home. Recommended
I had little hope that this pack would last beyond the first day of a 10-day Florida theme park vacation. I was wrong!! Thus little trooper was overloaded daiky (including water bottles, food, clothing, and the pack-up pouch filled with quarters. FILLED with quarters.) Every single day it got jostled and flung around as if it were made of army-grade canvas. No stitches gave way, no rips and it still looks brand new. Easy to repack into the pouch and even though the shoulder straps are not padded, they weren't in the least uncomfortable, even during 16-hour days of weather, on a Pooh-sized person. I did place a washcloth around cold/wet water bottle to prevent dampness seeping into the pack itself and wore rain poncho during most (but not all) downpours. I couldn't be more pleased with its performance.
Purchased the 20L size in A-Orange color and it is the perfect Camelbak MULE dupe. Of course because it is a packable backpack, the material is very thin. I try to be careful when rolling it back up because I feel like it will easily rip but as you can see in my picture, I took it on a hike and it held up very well! It can hold quite a bit of things without it looking too bulky. I love this packable backpack; highly recommend!
I bring this with me to use as a daybag whenever I travel anywhere, and usually bring it backpacking if I am set up at the same campsite for a few days and want to bring some smaller items with me on day hikes. It's super light and very easy to stuff back into the attached pocket.
I love this pack! I use it for my daily commute on public light rail because I don't want to carry my lunch or jacket or whatever in a hiking pack or a shopping bag. I got the 20 liter and it holds a lot! And if I'm only carrying stuff one-way, I can stuff it in its little stuff sac and hold it in my hand, or in a pocket even. I actually fit a big clunky pair of steel-toe work boots in it and still had room for my lunch! And being a total mountaineering gear junkie, I can say that this pack, for a very light weight pack, is very well constructed, and with good materials. All seams are taped, straps are well anchored in the seams, good stitching, nice zippers, and nice water-repellant Cordura rip-stop nylon. None of that cheapo paper "fabric" on this pack. I got the dark gray, my wife got the dark teal, both look great!
I love this pack. I had a Mission Peak Gear Fast2100 foldable pack that was great, and very inexpensive. I liked that pack a lot, but it was a little big at 30L, so I didn’t stow it in other larger bags and for a regular daypack it was not wonderful. I ended up giving that one to my dad, and buying am 20L Gregory for planned hikes near home. But I still had a gap for overnight backpacking trips where I typically make camp early afternoon and have time to explore my area before dinner. This 4monster fits that use case PERFECTLY. First off, it folds into a TINY stuff sack, and weighs barely anything. But then when deployed, it’s a great size to hold snacks, a puffy or rain jacket (or both), and a water bottle and Sawyer water filter system. I just returned from Aloha Lake in the Desolation Wilderness near Tahoe, and used it each day for hour or two quick pace hikes, and processing water to bring back to camp. The straps are thin but comfortable, as the material seems more durable than the price would suggest. I toss a seat pad (that I carry on backpacking trips anyway) halfway unfolded in the back of this little pack to give it some structure, but have used it without and it’s fine that way, too. I see these other folding daypack from brands like Matador and I laugh that anyone would pay that kind of money for those, when this little guy is such a steal. The couple of reviews that say it’s too small are clearly from people who don’t know backpacks because it clearly states its capacity in the description as well as dimensions, so I knew exactly whet I was getting. And it was exactly what I wanted. Definitely recommend this for anyone with backpacking or travel purposes where having a daypack at the ready would be useful.
My wife and I love to cruise and this is the perfect backpack for us. The two black mesh pockets fit our Contigo water mugs perfectly when leaving the ship. The small outer Zippered pocket is great for our phones, and misc items that we want easy access to rather than dropping them in the large compartment. The Large compartment will hold two beach size ship towels easily, and I can usually cram one snorkel and mask. The shoulder straps are not real comfortable, but better than our other similar backpack with rope style straps. The self contained - attached storage bag is sewn inside the large compartment and is handy for small items... we use it for hard candy when hiking. The last great point is its size and weight. It is easily packed in a suitcase, or carry-on bag and does not weigh much - important if flying a budget airline. If we purchased some souvenirs and running overweight, we have use this as a carry-on personal item to make room in our suitcase. (Easily fits under a seat, or overhead compartment.) We have used this backpack numerous time and it is holding up well and seems well made. My wife and I recommend this backpack!
I’ve been saying to my wife for 2 weeks traveling through Indonesia on what a great buy this was for a little day pack. Today it legitimately proved its awesomeness and durability. Visited the sacred monkey Forrest in Ubud, Bali and literally had a monkey try to tear it open with his razor sharp teeth 3 times and the little guy couldn’t even get a scratch in it. Don’t think about buying it, just do it!
Liked everything about it but mostly it's size when folded. It fit nicely in another back pack and avoided weight of carrying two heavier packs. We used it on a trip to Universal Studies Harry Potter World. Our 2 grandchildren wanted to wear their Harry Potter robes and to take their interactive wands. With the 90 to 95 degree FL temps, I suspected they would not wear the robes long. This back pack served us fantastically. After loading the robes and wands (which fit amply) into the extremely lightweight 4Monster Day Pack, they agreed (with absolutely no argument) to trade-off carrying it on their backs. It also fit easily in the Universal Studios lockers. Would definitely buy again.
I love this backpack! In preparation for our honeymoon to Bora Bora, I was looking for a collapsible backpack which I could carry in my luggage during the flight and unpack when we got to the islands. This little backpack worked out perfectly. It stuffs easily into a hand-sized pouch for storage, but the backpack's two zippered compartments were very roomy. I brought it with me on several tours, but was most impressed when I brought it on our snorkeling tour. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it fit my snorkel gear/flippers and it still could be zippered up and have room to spare. It also proved to be water resistant, as it kept the inner contents (my extra shirt and other gear) nice and dry. I'm excited to bring this little bag on many more adventures!
