I would recommend this device to anyone if you have realistic expectations for what you're trying to do with it. I was able to eliminate a keyboard and mouse sitting around my living room. Not to mention it's kind of a neat gadget not many people have ever seen. :-)
I bought this keyboard remote to operate Kodi running on a Raspberry Pi media box. Setup is easy. There's a USB dongle located in the battery compartment. It's entirely plug and play with no additional steps required. The keyboard is handheld size. It's not much bigger than any remote control you have laying around the house and the keys are all easily accessible even for someone with big hands. It's easy and comfortable to operate either with a single hand or both hands. I haven't noticed any lag between key input and action on screen. The touchpad mouse while small is accurate and can be operated easily with your thumb.
These are excellent for Android boxes of all kinds, but also Firestick devices, Nvidia Shield devices and even servers and computers.
Keyboard is responsive and the buttons kind of feel like you're typing on a physical keypad of a cell phone. While the entire device fits in the palm of my hand I am easily able to type with both fingers.
At first I bought this just for use on my Android box, but it turned out to be such an awesome little device that I've gotten another one and may be getting more.
This is essential for working with the Pi Touch. The screen keyboard is so awkward that any programming with it is impossible; as well as corrupting the desktop. In a tight work area this allows me to write shell commands to the Pi Touch (with Sense Hat) without being encumbered with the cabling from a USB Keyboard and Mouse. I can throw the whole kit in my bag and take it with me. My iPazzPort is a couple of years old now and still works and still has more battery life than I need for a single work session. It will still work after a week sitting there shut off on my desk.
When I got this my friends were over. We took it out of the box and had a nice laugh. Not because anything was wrong with it, but a friend immediately said, "I wanted something like this in 1998 and I would have paid $500 for it then".
Wasn't really sure what to expect with this but it's been just what I wanted and I would buy again. Firstly, it worked on my rock64 and raspberry pi with no effort whatsoever. Plug in the dongle and away you go. I was a little concerned that the buttons would be mushy and hard to determine if they'd been pressed (especially since some of my passwords are *long*) but you get a nice click. The 'sleep' works as expected and it was a nice bonus that there is a space for AAA batteries as well as the rechargeable battery. I can't find a single thing not to recommend with this.
I just received this today! I have read many reviews some saying it will and/or wont work with a Samsung Smart tv. I have a Samsung Smart tv and it does indeed work on mine. At first it didn't, but, I read somewhere in the Q&A section that you need to press the Fn and F1 button at the same time and when it the little light flashes THEN plug in the usb. I did that and the tv recognized the mini keyboard. Now I don't have to use the remote to input my searches and I am very, very, pleased with this little keyboard. The battery didn't take too long to charge about an hour or so. The keys are nice and firm not rubbery and the touch pad is smooth and works like it should. All in all I would recommend this to anyone looking for an alternative to the tv remote or a standard wireless keyboard and mouse.
Setting up this wireless keyboard for my PC and Raspberry Pi console was very easy. The lighted keyboard is a nice feature to have when playing games in low light conditions. If you have a Raspberry Pi console, this keyboard is definitely a must-have item. Customer support was very helpful, they me set everything up and it works nicely now. This is a nice, inexpensive wireless keyboard that's also high quality. I definitely recommend it.
This has a recargable battery that seems to go for weeks before I need to charge it again. This is probably largely due to the amazing battery-saving auto-sleep feature.
Considering the price, this works amazingly. It's definitely a superior design to their other micro-keyboard (I have huge hands and have no problems with it which is amazing considering how small it is). This is designed for Pi but it will work with anything that I know of. I use one on my HTPC and have the keyboard on my nightstand. It's lighter than my old apple-tv remote (never waste your money on an appleTV by the way, they're terrible when compared to a Roku 3 or a small HTPC). The only thing I will say as far as drawbacks -- if your only available port is in the back of the computer and there's a lot of crap between you and the nano-USB dongle for this device, consider buying a USB extension cable with some Velcro stickers to give your keyboard decent line of sight to its receiver. This will prevent you from having any annoying issues, especially when the battery is getting lower. Otherwise it will sometimes cut in and out if there's a lot of stuff blocking it's line of sight, especially if the battery is getting low.
I was not expecting much out of this keyboard. I expected another super cheap product as most things that are named iSomething usually are, but I was pleasantly surprised. It has a pretty good quality to it. Doesn't feel real cheap and works great. It connects right away, doesn't take long to charge, and lasts me several weeks on a single charge. I use this to control a Pi running openelec, and it works great from across the room. The lights on it are very bright (can be a pro or con), and the buttons work great. The mouse also functions well and the pad can be tapped or you can use the physical left and right click buttons. I also like the fact that if the Li-ion battery ever goes bad, and I cant replace it for some reason, there is also slots for 2 AAA batteries that can be used instead.
Installation was easy on my updated Windows 7 computer, my mom could do it. I plugged in the micro usb receiver and turned on the remote control. I was up and running without any extra software in about 5 minutes, which is the time it took Windows to find the drivers. I was connected to the internet so that may or may not make a difference.
This is a slick little keyboard and mouse combo. I bought this to hook my spare laptop up to my TV and stream movies and tv and the like off of it without needing a separate mouse and keyboard. While I am certainly not going to write blogs or a novel with this device it gets the job done.
Also makes a great mini wireless keyboard for everyday use of the web browser on a tablet or smart T.V.
Enjoy wireless, worry free typing and easy customized mouse over controls without the hassle of the old fashioned one+one+one step controls.
These have been great for setting up new computers and would be great for portability reasons.
The touchpad is really sensitive, and almost jumpy, but if it's just selecting the occasional menu, it's super convenient to have. Would make an excellent keyboard for consoles, smart TVs and media boxes for intermittent typing from the couch.
I'm quite amused by this inventive little gizmo - just for what it does for the price. Recommend!
This remote worked very well with pretty much anything I plugged it in. Various laptops, pcs, and the raspberry pi 2. The lithium ion battery life is long and i think there is an option to use AAA batteries in a pinch. In all, an excellent buy.
The track pad works well and I am able to do figure 8's going horizontally on the pad with ease, vertically is difficult but works. I wouldn't game with this but I am able to navigate webpages and click accurately on what I'd like to click on. If you look at the device picture there's two different locations with left and right click functions which comes in handy.
I've never had a problem with any of these and the features on the keyboard itself are many, well thought-through and well-placed. I highly recommend this.
This remote is actually really good for a Kodi streaming machine, be it a Raspberry Pi or a fancy mini PC. I used to use a keyboard and mouse from my couch to control everything. Quite cumbersome. This remote alleviates that. It charges really fast, has a storage space for the receiver, and comes with a battery and charger. The touchpad works like a laptop's touchpad where you can tap to click or use the dedicated mouse buttons on the sides. Typing is a breeze and reminds me of the old Sidekick phones. I never lose signal at all and the battery lasts quite a while. The remote turns itself off after a few minutes of inactivity which helps with battery conservation.
This is much easier for arm chair use than the full size keyboard I was using before. Other advantages include: The back light can be set to a color of of your choice; The keyboard contains a more complete set of functions than many alternatives; The device sleeps quickly enough to conserve battery life for a couple of days. I don't game, but I doubt gamers would like it for that use. Some people may prefer the ease of use of a 5 row keyboard as offered by other manufactures, but I definitely appreciate the increased functionality the 6 row keyboard provides.
