About this item:
The blades are made of 4CR13 stainless steel, which is widely used in the manufacture of high-quality chef’s knives. The blade becomes sharper, which can prevent rust and corrosion. This kitchen scissors can be used to cut turkey, cut raw meat, vegetables, barbecue, fish, etc.
This type of scissors kitchen are divided into a sharp cutting area and a bone cutting area; the sharp cutting area is designed with serrations, the cutting edge of the tooth saw is sharper, and the food and the cutting edge are more suitable for non-slip. The bone shear zone is designed with curvature. The arc will make the hard objects better hold and anti-slip. At the same time, using the spring-loaded mode, you will work faster and with less effort.
Two pattern lock designs can support your heavy-duty scissors under different conditions. In the locked mode, safety is maximized to prevent accidental opening of the incision. In the heavy cutting work, the spring-loaded mode can reduce the pressure on the hand.

These cut through chicken bone with little or no effort. I bought them only because my first pair are about 8 years old, so I'll put those in the garage for cutting twigs, maybe some pruning, etc. I sharpened them, but after 8 years a brand new pair work a bit better. At this price I am more than happy to trade them in for a new pair every 7 or 8 years!
A huge hit at Thanksgiving!!! We decided to spatchcock- or flatten the bird (turkey) by cutting the backbone out and breaking the breast bone. These scissors were highly effective at cutting the bone out and anything else we needed done. Highly recommended
Love these shears. They do a phenomenal job on cutting chicken.
First impression - these will chomp through just about any bird you can drop on the kitchen counter. Very sturdy. Looking forward to my first Turkey spatchcock!
I still haven't figured out why this works as well as it does, but it makes cutting chicken not only easy, but fun. With a little practice, you just need to just cut out the cartilage around the wings and thighs, and then just pull them out of the joints. Then, the backbone is practically separated and not much more is necessary. About the only cutting you need to do is for the breast bone, but that is the easiest part. The straight shears that I have used are nowhere nearly as easy. And it easily comes apart for cleaning too. They have thought this one out.
Thank you so much I got my order already it’s so nice I like so much
Like I really needed another kitchen gadget... But I am very happy with this purchase. I would recommend this narrow-function tool to anyone with sufficient kitchen drawer space. I bought this for a grilled whole chicken recipe which called for cutting the spine out of the bird to make it lay flat. While a good heavy knife worked fine, it was just a matter of time before it slipped and cut me (and I would prefer not to abuse my good knives to cut through bones), and whacking chickens with a cleaver results in bits and drips scattered about (ugh, more clean up). These poultry shears made my recipe easy to prep - for reference I am working with 4- to 5-pound fryer chickens. The spring-loaded handle feature is nice, but since I only do one chicken for the meal it's not of huge benefit to me personally. I also like that it can be disassembled easily for cleaning
They perform to the task of poultry shears. They don’t fall apart when cutting, they are sharp as required, and they clean well (come apart at the right time) after. Give them a try..price is not unreasonable either. Try the brand..you won’t be disappointed.
I’ve used this twice to spatchcock chickens for bbq’ing and smoking and it worked exactly how I wanted it to. It cut through the chicken like it was nothing. Waiting to do a turkey, but I don’t think it will be anymore difficult.
I love my two-piece Cutco scissors (used/abused for over 20 years now), but they're straight bladed, not good for cutting the backbone out of whole chickens. These were recommended by a couple of chefs I know, and I couldn't be happier. Well, maybe a redesign on the spring return is in order; this feels a bit lightweight, but overall I can't ding the product too much for something which hasn't broken yet. Using these, you feel in complete control cracking through bones, and that means they're WAY safer to use than general-purpose heavy scissors.
I deboned/separated a few raw chickens with this and have used it several times since I bought it and WOW it works great! I did alot of research before I bought these because I am so sick of buying things that work once or twice and break - so far, these shears are perfect for my application - easy to maintain/wash i haven't had any trouble with the spring opening unexpectedly as mentioned in some reviews.
I bought this 2 days before Thanksgiving, in order to cut out the turkey's backbone and cook it using the spatchcock method. The shears arrived in time, and were all that was promised and more. The turkey was delicious! (unfortunately I didn't think to include them in the photo). The other positive reviews helped me decide to purchase these shears, plus the OXO brand is trustworthy. I would highly recommend them.
Love these things. I don’t think Shears are going to be significantly different in their basic ability to cut. Not exactly rocket science. Where these win is in their build quality and easy of use. Most importantly, easy of cleaning and taking apart. My last shears had a steel spring mechanism that was hard to take apart, and harder to clean. That mechanism eventually started to rust. These are so easy to disassemble, and clean - like 2 seconds of effort, that I don’t avoid using them, as I did with my last pair. Buy with confidence.
