This nozzle is a replacement purchase for very old nozzle with broken knob due to a fall. Old one had knob positioned at the top and ignition trigger on the side. I liked the old setup better than this new one. The trigger at the top is awkward to operate. The knob could be a bit bigger to facilitate opening the nozzle easier. Other than that, it works as expected.
This is a very handy and useful propane torch. It's ignition button eliminates the need to carry matches or any other kind of lighter. It is a great tool and a very good buy!
Produces a strong concentrated flame the other one I have produces a large flame and a large non- concentrated jet flame perfect complement for what I already have
It’s perfect, bought this torch to work with epoxy and I do not regret it. I really like that o can use a camp propane 16oz and it’s cheap to get it as well. The torch itself is great and works fine.
Simple lpg camping bottle torch, does what it was supposed to do, lights up easy, stays lit until turned off.
I've always wanted a propane torch. Working on automotive stuff it's needed sometimes. This is my first one and I'm happy with it. No leaks and no issues. Not sure why some people are complaining. If I have any issues down the line I'll update the review. The knob is kinda sensitive. Trying to get the flame down low can be tricky but fine. The igniter works no problem. Sometimes it takes two or three pulls but lights fine. Now I can torch stubborn bolts or bushings. Nice tall flame.
I thought about getting the ts4000 or ts8000 instead of this but after I bought it I found that this is actually what I need... simple, starts on the first click every time and has a nice consistent flame... I use this and automotive... and it works great
We had to replace our old one as the seal had gone bad after so many years of using. This was a perfect replacement.
I got this torch yesterday. I tested it using a nearly spent propane bottle sitting in a garage at 20 degrees. It lit right away, creating a short flame which, after the bottle was allowed to warm up in the house, became more than three times as long. Since I'm hauling propane anyway, I won't be camping without this.
This is a very helpful tool to have for starting my campfire. It does go out if I’m not holding it right, but I think that’s user error. I’m glad to have it!
Have had one of these for years, used daily/professionally for mechanical work. Great for light duty stuff and saves you from dragging out the torches. Won't get stuff cherry red but will get it hot enough to free it up most of the time. When you're done you can cook a hot dog with it lol.
Love this little guy. Use him to start my smoke tubes with. Hook this guy up to a one pounder and away I go. Never had an issue. Absolutely love this thing. The built in ignighter is super helpful. My old one I was always looking for a lighter. The only down side to this one is that it is not in red, white and blue
If you use 1lb propane bottles for camping or other applications this is a must have. I keep finding new ways to use it and it's a bargain. I use it to light my fireplace, melt lead for fishing, and camping. Lots of other uses I'm sure. Recommend
Two years ago, I figured a torch like this just wouldn't get enough use to justify having one. Then a few months ago, at a particularly cold and windy camping and music event, one of my neighbors used a self lighting torch to get his campfire going. Meanwhile, although I had propane bottles for a small stove, my table top was littered with spent matches recording my journey toward eventually having enough hot water for a cup of coffee. You can say what you want about "glamping." I don't particularly need to tow a "house on wheels" everywhere I go. But I learned all my purist, backpacking skills when I was a boy scout, and now, at age 66, I am only camping because it is the only way to be around 2 to 4 days of music. So, when I find a good tool, I throw it into the car along with everything else I may or may not use.
Just a real basic self lighting torch. Much smaller than others I've had. Seems to work real well! Flame is not monstrous but that's fine with me.
I like this, it seems to be smaller in diameter than the basic brass one, but the flame is spread out different, and works jusrt fine for my uses. And I like all stainless, plus, the push button ignition is nice, and works well - no more looking for a bic... For a only a few bucks more than the bare bones basic brass model, I'm glad I chose his one.
I’ve wore out two of these and I’ll never be without one. Good value and they hold up well.(I use mine every day.
Use to light the fire in my wood stove - works fantastic. Starts on second click everytime. So much better than matches or lighter!
Plastic but it works so I will not complain. I could have spent twice the cost to get a better one but for me this is fine.
What caught my eye most was the price, most of the torch heads I've seen here online are over twenty dollars and this one goes around $16 and even has a trigger start that hasn't to this day, failed on me yet. If you're looking for a torch head for all your smoker needs or campfire needs I absolutely recommend this one!
The fit and finish on this torch is excellent. It starts reliably after two presses on the igniter button. Flame is adjustable within a narrow range, but certainly good enough for most home brazing tasks. I use this with a 1 pound propane bottle (short, stubby type) and it works perfectly. I suspect the people who had problems with their torch were using the tall, skinny bottles. That can be problematic because of a characteristic of the propane. As propane is released from the pressurized container, it cools off suddenly, which may cause ice buildup in the tank's neck. The ice blocks propane flow, resulting in weak flame. The short, stubby bottles don't cool off so suddenly, so you won't get the ice problem very often.
Lost my old tip along the way, and this was the perfect replacement without having to buy ANOTHER can of propane (or propane accessories) Works on my MAP canister and propane just fine.
Actually a super handy product--just attach it to one of those little green propane bottles, and you have got 'fire on the go'. Really helpful for lazy campfire starting, but also makes a seriously high-powered cigar lighter!
Easy to use adjustable flame and button
Took a minute to get it to light but after a couple of strikes it fired right up and easy to adjust.
